Action should be ensured for conservation of mineral

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Minerals, Chaudhary Sher Ali has said that action should be ensured as per law for timely utilization and conservation of mineral resources of the country. He said that the resources and capabilities should be fully utilized for ensuring utilization of mineral resources in order to overcome energy crisis in the country.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of Provincial Mines & Minerals Department at his office, here today. Secretary Minerals Punjab Arshad Mehmood, Additional Secretary Minerals Tahir Raza Hamdani, Deputy Secretary Minerals and other officers were present on the occasion.

The Minister said that according to the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister, all the phases should be completed in a transparent manner to ensure timely utilization of mineral resources of the country and allotment be made through open tenders only on merit, performance basis and according to rules and regulations. He said that efforts should be made for bringing forward well-reputed companies for achieving the desired results.

He said that complete details of modern research and data of the mineral resources throughout Punjab should be compiled. He directed to ensure on the spot inspection of mineral resources all over the province. The officers of Mineral Department assured the Minister to implement the directions given in this regard and extend full cooperation besides taking best possible measures with regard to mineral resources.
