Punjab University announce fee waiver for students during COVID 19

Lahore : Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad has announced that PU would not charge any fee from students under some fee heads during COVID 19.

Dr Niaz Ahmad has said that PU would continue its pro-student policies and will not charge any medical, transport, library, sports and hostel fee except tuition fee during the period of online classes.

Meanwhile ; A Lahore-based company SPEL has donated face shields to Punjab University for protection from COVID 19.

In this regard, SPEL Chairman Almas Hyder called on PU Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad and informed the VC that these were specifically designed as a part of personal protection equipment (PPE) to protect  people especially doctors and paramedics treating the Coronavirus patients across the country.

He further stated that Pakistan was proud enough that the company was the first one manufacturer to comply with the European Union PPE regulations for CE marking cat -1 and also meet application clauses for physical parameters and has got EU’s CE certification.

He said that its features included light weight washable with soap and water full face protection, comfortable to wear, non resistant to breathing and first level of defense against splashes and mist and it’s affordable.

The vice chancellor encouraged him for producing quality face shield indigenously.
