LHC notice abduction of a factory manager by police

Lahore High Court on Thursday took notice of the news published in a section of press that a factory manager was abducted by the police in Ghulam Muhammad Abad who has not been recovered so far. District & Sessions Judge, Faisalabad has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments.

According to details, a factory manager namely Ammar Azeem was kidnapped by Madina Town police from the area of Faizabad 25 days ago. The family of abductee blocked the jail road and staged a protest. The protesters chanted slogans against police. Wife of Ammar told that her children always missed their father with tears in their eyes. She alleged that police was doing nothing for the recovery of her husband and deliberately not arresting the accused persons. On the other hand, accused are threatening them with dire consequences on telephone, she alleged.

According to the news report, police found a dead body of an unknown person from canal in the area of Sandal Bar. Police called the family of Ammar Azeem for identification of dead body but it could not be identified due to latter stage of decaying. Police had decided to go for the DNA test of the body for its recognition.

LHC Complaint Cell took serious notice of the news and directed the concerned D&SJ to look into the matter and submit report within a week positively.
