LHC Judges get briefing about newly passed Finance Bill

Lahore: A comprehensive briefing on Finance Bill, 2013 was arranged at Judge’s Lounge at the Lahore High Court on Thursday.  Asim Zulfiqar, an Income Tax expert of a renowned company gave an hour long presentation on the newly passed Finance Bill by the Federal Government.

Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Mr. Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Mr. Justice Khalid Mehmood Khan, Mr. Justice Yawar Ali, Mr. Justice Anwar ul Haq, Mr. Justice Abdus Sattar Asghar, Mr. Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, Mrs. Justice Ayesha A. Malik, Mr. Justice Ali Baqar Najfi, Mr. Justice Shoaib Saeed, Mr. Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh as well as Registrar & Additional Registrars accompanied with members of Finance Wing of the LHC were present on the occasion.

It was an innovative initiative of the Hon’ble Chief Justice who attaches high priority to fiscal matters and a number of austerity measures launched by him will get a boost by this event. The exercise will also go a long way in handling the day to day finance as well as purchase dealings for the judiciary of the Province. During the briefing Hon’ble Judges raised inquisitive queries which were answered by the Mr. Asim and he said that by the new Finance Bill will enhance GDP ratio for economic development of the country. The representative also threw light on steps to be taken by the Government for broadening the new tax structure for strengthening the economy.
