15 dead 683 injured in 563 road traffic accidents

Lahore: At least 15 people were died in 563 road traffic accidents reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. The Punjab Emergency Service shifted 465 serious injured to different hospitals of relevant district whereas some 218 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details, 247 drivers, 12 underage drivers, 92 pedestrians and 359 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 108 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 128 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 64 RTAs in Faisalabad with 69 victims and Gujranwala remained at third position with 48 RTAs and 52 victims.

The details further show that total 698 in victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 558 males and 140 females, while age group of the victims show that 123 were under 18 year of age, 410 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 165 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 453 motorbikes, 65 auto rickshaws, 71 motorcars, 25 vans, 4 passenger buses, 16 trucks and 70 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
