Lahore High Court on Wednesday took notice of the news published in a section of press that wife along with her accomplices physically tortured and threw acid on her husband in the suburban area of Peer Mahal.
District & Sessions Judge, Toba Tek Singh has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments.
According to details, Muhammad Mushtaq, resident of Umar Farooq Colony used to beat her wife over some trivial issues. Farhat Bibi called her sister Nusrat Bibi and some other accomplices including Hameedan Bibi, Muhammad Waqas and Mubeen Ahmad. She along with her companions tortured her husband severely and then threw acid on him. He was badly burnt and shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Toba Tek Singh in a critical condition. Police registered a case against the accused and started investigation..
LHC Complaint Cell took serious notice of the news and directed the concerned D&SJ to look into the matter and submit report within a week positively.
