Chairman SDC plundering institution:PEW

Lahore: Chairman of the Skill Development Council (SDC) Mian Akram Farid has been plundering the institution since long, a top official said Wednesday.

Muhammad Riaz, Chief Executive of the SDC said that merit has been bulldozed while whole family, associates and personal employees of the chairman are looting the institution in a very systematic manner.

Talking to Dr Murtaza Mughal, President of the Pakistan Economy Watch, he said that resources of SDC are being utilised to promote personal businesses and relations of Mian Akram Farid.

He said that personal employees of the chairman working in Pak Iron and Steel Casting and Hotel Crown Plaza have taken control of the office and critical record and they always force government servants to get illegal orders executed.

Illegal appointments and unlawful moves are on the rise in the SDC while the official car of the institution bearing registration number ICT-GX-497 is being used by Kashif Farid, the son of the chairman who has nothing to do with the institution.

Many employees including drivers are getting salary from SDC but serving private businesses of Mr. Akram Farid, he added.

The Chief Executive of the SDC Mr. Muhammad Riaz said that the Federal Secretary Education, Ministry of Education and Training and National Training Bureau have been informed about the situation but to no avail.

At the occasion, Dr Murtaza Mughal said that Nawaz Sharif should take note of abuse of authority and cleanse government departments of corrupt elements.
