Transparency International finds no corruption in Ujala Solar Project

Lahore: Terming Ujala Solar Project as in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations, the Transparency International Pakistan has pointed out that no corruption of any kind has been found in the procurement process of two lakh solar panels under Ujala Solar Project.

In its letter to the Punjab Energy Department, the Transparency International Pakistan has further pointed out that Punjab Procurement Rules 2009 have been completely followed in implementation of Ujala Solar Project. The letter further states that, under a Memorandum of Understanding signed with Punjab government on February 28, contracts and procurement matters of Ujala Solar Project were carefully inspected, after which, Ujala Solar Project has been found to be completely transparent. The letter further states that Transparency International Pakistan would continue to endeavor for establishment of rule of law, elimination of corruption and promotion of good governance in the country.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of Punjab government has said that after metro bus project, the declaration of Transparency International Pakistan that Ujala Solar Project is completely in accordance with rules and regulations, is a living proof of transparency of all development projects of Punjab government, while, after the authentication by Transparency International Pakistan, all false claims of those who were criticizing Punjab government in this regard have now proven to be completely wrong. It may be mentioned that, earlier, Transparency International Pakistan had also declared Pakistan metro bus project as transparent and had stated that 27 contracts of metro bus and process of procurement of machinery in this regard were done completely in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations.
