Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the fate of the nation and the country could not change unless the political parties issued tickets only to the people known for their integrity, honesty and competence. He was addressing the participants of the JI central workshop at Mansoora.
Liaqat Baloch said that the next elections were vital for the country’s survival and prosperity, therefore, only such people should be returned to the assemblies as had the courage to sacrifice their personal ends for the vital national objectives and were committed to taking every possible step in the service of the country and the nation.
He said that the JI had a team of honest and competent people that could steer the country out of the present crisis. He said the JI was the first party to raise its voice in regard to the competence of the assembly members as laid down in articles 62 and 63 of the constitution.
Besides, he said, the JI election manifesto guaranteed the country’s development and national cohesion. As such, the voters should give an opportunity to the JI to serve them an to get rid of the corrupt and self seeking politicians.
