American Business Forum signs MoU with Overseas Security Advisory Counsel

US Ambassador Richard G Olson addressing the gatheringUS Ambassador and ABF MembersMoU Signing Ceremony between US Ambassador and President ABFLahore: A MoU was signed in Lahore on Monday establishing and delineating working relations between the American Business Forum and the newly formed Overseas Security Advisory Counsel (OSAC). The OSAC MoU was signed by, both, Chief Guest at the occasion – Ambassador of the United States of America to Pakistan, Richard G. Olson and President of American Business Forum (ABF), Salim Ghauri. Director of International Security for OSAC, Ira Russ, was the Guest of Honor at the signing ceremony.

The Ambassador hailed efforts put in by ABF for the promotion of good business relations between US companies and Pakistani business concerns. He said that in a rapidly globalizing economy such efforts would go far to turn the tide of worldwide recession.

Salim Ghauri expressed his thanks to Ambassador Olson and reaffirmed American Business Forum’s commitment to establishing an effective bridge between the US and Pakistani economies for the benefit of all.
As per the working MoU, OSAC Country Councils will serve as a liaison between the U.S. private sector operating overseas and U.S. Embassies and Consulates around the world. The Lahore, Pakistan Country Council has been established to exchange useful and timely information among the U.S. Consulate, the American Business Forum (ABF), and American-owned organizations, American-based non-governmental organizations, faith-based groups, and academia.

The American Business Forum (ABF) is a non-profit body formed by Pakistani businesses in USA. Formed in 2009, its purpose is to provide a platform to American companies for business expansion, resolution of issues and attracting FDI in Pakistan. In this regard, interaction with Provincial as well as Federal Governments is one of its key objectives. ABF endeavors to play a key role in promoting trade and investment which are vital for the economic revival of Pakistan. This member-focused association aims to help the general public by development of Human Resource in Pakistan and convincing people in fulfilling their social responsibilities.
