Muhammad Asif becomes world’s snooker champion

Pakistani cueist Muhammad Asif has won the title of world’s snooker championship after defeating UK’s Garry Wilson by 10-08.He is the second Pakistani who has won this title. Muhammad Yosaf was the first who won the final in 1993.

Family and neighbors of Asif in Faisalabad started celebrating his victory immediately after the match.

The dream run of Pakistani cueist Muhammad Asif continues in IBSF World Snooker Championship 2012 being played in Sofia, capital of Bulgaria, as he entered the final of the mega event on Saturday.

The semi-final played on Saturday, proved one-sided as Muhammad Asif thrashed his opponent Alex Borg of Malta by 7-1 in best of 13 frames.


Former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and CM Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif congratulated him on this success.They said this victory is not only for his own but it is also for the national pride too
