YDA demands open probe of theft in Ophthalmology department Mayo Hospital

Lahore: The Young Doctors Association Pakistan has demanded president of Pakistan to constitute a high level e=inquiry team who can do open probe in a theft case .In his letter to President Zardari,YDA Pakistan secretary general Dr Salman Kazmi said this incident of theft of expensive machinery took place an year ago,
but nothing has been recovered uptil now and only one person named
Sabir is under arrest in the case at camp jail LOS Stop Ferozepur Road Lahore. He is the finance officer of PIPO. There were 3 people who had the key of the store from which machinery was stolen one was Naimat Habib, other was Sabir and third is another person. They have not included in the investigations, nor been arrested. We fear that big names are involved in the crime and they are trying to save themselves by trapping an attendant of the ward. The equipment got stolen from 3rd floor and guards say that they did not see anyone take it away.

Dr. Asad Aslam Khan is the DG of PIPO.It is worth mentioning that the 2 years ago machinery worth 1.5 lakh stolen and the responsibility was fixed on 6 staff members and later the same amount was deducted from their salaries. This is the main issue that if 2 years back 6 people were responsible for theft now how can one single person be responsible. Old inquiry of 6 people is available with YDA. You need to direct the formation of a High powered team to have a neutral probe/investigation into the matter.
