Pakistan to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday

Karachi: Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has announced that Eid ul Fitr would be celebrated in Pakistan on Monday 20th August 2012. The committee held its central meeting and tried to sight the moon but no reliable evidence could be received from any part of the country.

While making an announcement, Chairman Hilal Committee Pakistan Mufti Muneeb said that they held a meeting in Karachi in consultation with other religious scholars including Agha Gohar Ali, Allama Muhammad Ghazi, Maulana Syed Khalid Mehmood and others.

The other pariticipants were Mustif Sabir Hussain, Maulana Naeem, Maulana Ferozuddin Rehman, Pak Navy commander, Professor Karachi University.Chief Metrologist provided every kind of assistance to facilitate the committee.

He said taht the Committee’s regional members also said that they could not sight the moon of Eid; so the Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated on Monday dated August, he concluded.

He also said that nobody should make state within the state for his or her vested interests. He also prayed for security and survival of the country with the emphasis that the nation should be united for stability of the motherland.

Provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced to celebrate the Eid with masses on Sunday 19th of August with Saudi Arabia.

Senior Provincial minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour is of the view that central Ruet Hilal Committee has not consulted us regarding moon sighting decision, adding that the central committee doesn’t agree to stand by us in this regard.

Matrologists have the opinion that crescent was not visible in the region of South Asia including India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
