Lahore:Crimes Investigations Agency (CIA) police badly tortured an alleged thief Ameer alias Cheeta, resident of Baghbanpura who later succumbed to police torture.
The police have claimed that the 45-year-old accused Ameer suffered cardiac arrest during interrogation.He was rushed to a local hospital after his condition got deteriorated and died at the hospital later.
According to sources, the CIA Cantonment Police arrested Ameer from Salamat Pura area. The police badly tortured him during interrogation to force him to confess the crimes, no matter he had committed or not. The man fell unconscious because of sever police torture. The police later shifted him to the Lahore General Hospital, where he died.
CIA police claimed that the accused was a notorious criminal and wanted to the police in several cases of robberies. Police also claimed that they recovered a stolen motorcycle from his passion. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy.
