Lahore:Police have registered as many as 2179 cases and arrested 2179 culprits during the campaign against illegal weapons and recovered 17 Kalashnikovs, one machinegun, 79 rifles, 125 guns, 1814 pistols, 71 revolvers, 08 carbine, 02 mouzer, 25 daggers, one knife, three hand-grenades, 178 magazines and more than 21 thousand bullets,during the first five months of the current year 2012.

Lahore police spokesman Rai Nazar Hayat has said that crackdown launched against illegal weapons in order to rid the city of crime and criminal elements should be further intensified.
