Protest is the right of the people:Home Secretary Punjab

Multan: Home secretary Punjab Shahid khan has said that protest is the right of the people but they should not damage the public and private property during their procession. He was addressing in a meeting here at circuit house, IGP, RPO, CPO, Commissioner, DCO’s ,DPO’s, elected representatives ,traders, labor union leaders and ulema from all the fur districts of Multan division were also attended the meeting.
The home secretary said that the people who were involved in destructive activities would have to face the music as they would be identified through law enforcement agencies and media reports and cases against them would be sent to courts for punishment.
Shahid khan said people were suffering due to load shedding, they have the right to protest but they could not be allowed to destruct ion. He advised to MEPCO authorities to keep in touch with district administration, Police and also arrange private security too. They should advertise the load shedding schedule and avoid unscheduled loadshedding.
He requested the elected members to play their role for maintaining the peace and public order. The commissioner Multan briefed the home secretary if the loadshedding issue would not handle amicably, law & order could be worst.
