I will restore people’s confidence on police:CCPO Lahore

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Aslam Tareen has said that, in order to restore confidence of the people on the police force, it is essential to suppress the criminal elements even before they commit the crime. CCPO ordered Lahore Police to perform their duties with justice and merit so that people do not fear coming to the police stations. Muhammad Aslam Tareen further ordered the police officers to perform their duties without consideration of any greed or external pressure in order to restore citizens’ confidence. Stressing upon the need of Thana Culture reform, CCPO pointed out that atmosphere of police stations should be so friendly that the peaceful citizens do not feel any hesitation in coming to the police stations.

CCPO Lahore Muhammad Aslam Tareen was addressing a ceremony held at CIA Police Model Town Office on the occasion of distributing of good on Supurdari. SP CIA Cap. ® Liaqat Ali Malik and DSP CIA Model Town Atif Hayat were also present on this occasion. According to details, CIA Police has recovered stolen property, worth rupees 24 lakh, in the police stations of Misri Shah, Sattokalta, North Cantt, Shahdara, Shafiqabad, Manawan, Ghaziabad, Yakki Gate and Gulshan-e-Ravi, wherein 12 cases were registered, which include a cash of rupees 10 lakh 13 thousand, three motorcycles, gold ornaments eight bangles, a gold ring, four cell phones, three watches, two cameras, oil 185 box, two pistols and bullets. CCPO handed over these stolen good on Supurdari to its rightful owners, which include: Muhammad Hussain, Amir Ashraf, Hafiz Muhammad Zohaib, Sheikh Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Zeeshan Hanif, Sheraz Ashraf, Ghulam Qadir, Abdul Rauf, Haroon Shabir, Atta Muhammad, Umar Zaman and Abdul Rauf. CCPO further said that all police officers ought to work with a missionary zeal in order to serve the people of the country. CCPO warned that bribery will not be tolerated and the Lahore Police ought to work to make police stations a peaceful sanctuary for the visiting citizens. He further warned that anyone hiding crime and criminal elements would be dealt with strictly. Muhammad Aslam Tareen reminded police officers that all their ranks and posts are trust from Allah Almighty, which ought to be utilized to earn Allah’s Grace and blessing.
