Jahangir Khanzada inaugurates International swimming complex at Nishter Park

Lahore : Provincial Minister for Sports Jahangir Khanzada has said that the need of swimming pool at national level was being felt for a long time. We have completed this initiative by the grace of Allah Almighty today in Lahore.  The very first state of the art swimming pool has been established for swimmers.

He said that we are lucky to have Shahbaz Sharif as Chief Minister of Punjab as he is not only working on education and other fields but also doing remarkable work for Sports Department Punjab government has taken many initiatives for Youth. These initiatives also include sports based projects.

He expressed these views while addressing the inauguration ceremony of Punjab International swimming complex at Nishtar Park Gaddafi stadium along with chairman cabinet committee for Sports Hanif Abbasi and Secretary Sports Amir Jaan.

Minister said that The Punjab Government set unmatchable exemplary trends in revival, enriching and excelling the sports culture in Punjab. This state of the Art Swimming Pool is one of the most desirable Projects which is completed with the cost of Rs. 562.720 million.

He said that the tenacious trends and excellent achievements regarding sports renaissance in the province have done wonderful job to exterminate the menace of terrorism from its epicenter and sinister roots.

On this occasion while addressing the ceremony Hanif Abbasi said that A sound body has a sound mind. Only a healthy nation can lead the globe. There is no room for lazy people in the world. So wake up and strive tough to boost up your stamina. Sports and education are two sides of the same coin.

He said that Punjab Government is sending the message of love, peace and harmony through sports and cultural activities whereas others are spreading aggression through sit in.

Secretary Sports said that Sports Board Punjab will launch a mega sports event on distinct level. He further said that Swimming is the best recreational and motivational exercise of body. Swimmers also enjoy it a lot.

He told the media that Punjab Swimming complex is eight lines all weather swimming pool enabling swimmers to take advantage of the facility throughout the year. Two separate gymnasiums have also been established; one for male and one for female.

This facility is also equipped with steam rooms for male and female, snooker room, kids play room and mini theatre to impart training and coaching techniques.
