Government would be responsible for any political mishap : Siraj ul Haq

Lahore : Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that if there was any political mishap in the country, the present government would be entirely responsible for that.

Talking to different delegations at Mansoora on Sunday, he said the only agenda of the government to while away time. The government had proved an absolute failure and by now it was unable to see the writing on the wall.  He said that weakening the institutions and overpowering them was no achievement.

Siraj ul Haq said that the economic indicators of the country were touching danger points and if somebody drew attention towards that, the rulers lost their nerves. He said there was addition of millions of jobless people in the market but the government did not have any plan for them.

He said that the politics revolving around a few families and individuals had only given the gifs of lawlessness, price spiral, injustice and taxes to the masses.  He said the masses were fed up with the kind of democracy which meant poverty and hunger for the poor but luxuries for a few.

He said that instead of investing in the country, the rulers had been transferring their wealth abroad but had been making claims of attracting huge foreign investments in the country.

The JI chief said that the people’s government implied supremacy of law and merit. Rule of individuals was dictatorship and not rule of the people. He said that there had never been a democratic or peoples government in our country in the true sense of the word.

He said that the masses were unable to get clean drinking water and the rural people were fast shifting to the urban areas due to which the problems of the cities and towns were multiplying but the government had no plans for their relief.

Sirajul Haq expressed the hope that the NAB would be able to catch hold of the plunderers and recover their ill gotten wealth from them and none of the plunderers would be spared.

He said the corrupt rulers had on one hand, brought bad name to the country and on the other hand, burdened the people under heavy debt.

He said that in the given situation, the JI was the only hope for the masses.
