Mandi Bahauddin( Sher Gondal ): District police officer Mandi Bahauddin Umar Salamat have claimed to have arrested two alleged robbers and four thieves, and recovered from them nine motorcycles worth Rs 700000 and seven buffalos worth Rs 1400000.
In a press conference held at his office, DPO Umar Salamat said that in view of rising crime cattle lifting and snatching motorcycles on gun-point had risen during the last month. These incidents spread panic and sense of insecurity among the public in the area.
Taking notice of the situation, under directions of IG Punjab, he formed special team led by SHO Kuthiala Sheikhan Inspector Basharat Warriach to arrest the culprits. SDPO Malakwal Raja Fakhar Bashir was made responsible to supervise and direct the team during the operation.
He said that the all members of the team worked hard during day and night and carried out several raids on hiding places of the bandits. During a week the police party traced out the culprits involved in cattle and bikes lifting and during investigation they led to places where they had kept the stolen property and got them recovered.
He lauded role of the team and awarded cash prizes to Inspector Bashart Warriach and Head Constable Amir for completing the task in shortest possible time. The owners of stolen bikes and buffalos and the accused duly handcuffed were present. Before ending the conference the buffaloes and bike were handed over to the owners on Supardari.
The owners appreciated performance of police and thanked the DPO for recovering their buffalos and bikes. They said it was incredible achievement of the police and it would go long way to discourage anti social elements in their nefarious designs.
