Anti Corruption arrest ASJ Toba Tek Singh

Lahore : Anti Corruption Establishment Punjab, in different raids, has arrested Assistant Superintendent Jail, District Jail Toba Tek Singh Zafar Iqbal and Secretary Union Consul Rana Wahan Lodharan Shafqat Zia on charges of corruption.

According to the details, Gulam Murtaza, a resident of Muzafargarh, lodged a complaint to Anti Corruption that Assistant Superintendent Jail, posted at district Jail Toba Tek Singh, blackmailed him and minted Rs. 80 thousand from him. Anti Corruption Toba Tek Singh initiated an inquiry and charges of blackmailing and receiving amount of gratification by misusing official position proved true against accused Zafar Iqbal.

Following the inquiry report, a case was registered at Anti Corruption Police Station Toba Tek Singh and Circle Officer Ghulam Rasool along with ASI Anti Corruption Abdul Rauf arrested Assistant Superintendent Jail Zafar Iqbal after approval of Judicial Action from authority against the accused.

Anti Corruption would seek physical remand of the accused from the local court for further interrogation tomorrow. Muhammad Abid Waraich Assistant Director Anti Corruption Lodhran, on a complaint lodged by Gehny Khan, a resident of Kahorr Pakka, conducted a trap raid under the supervision of Abdul Qayyum, Civil Judge and arrested Secretary Union Council Rana Wahan Lodharan, Safqat Zia red handed while taking Rs. 6 thousand as bribe from the complainant for issuance of Birth Certificate.

Accused was sent to jail on judicial remand after recovery of amount of gratification and registration of case against him.
