Punjab govt organizes a ceremony to reunite lost children with their families

Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was a chief guest at a ceremony held regarding recovery of missing and unattended children and handing over to their parents at Model Town, today.

Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Punjab has recovered lost children of Sindh and KPK from different areas of Punjab and handed over to their parents. A child belonging to Afghanistan has also been recovered, his parents have been traced in Afghanistan and after necessary action, he will be handed over to them.

Addressing the function, the Chief Minister said that today’s evening is blissful when misplaced children are being handed over to their parents. He said that Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Punjab has made this noble effort and Sindh and KPK governments have also cooperated in this regard. He said that we will have to forward this noble cause jointly by considering it a “Jehad”.

He said that those parents who have received their lost children are praying for all of you. He said it is an invaluable service to the humanity. He said that message of harmony, sympathy and virtue has been promoted through handing over of mislaid children to their parents. He said that we will have to make strenuous efforts in practical field for such noble causes.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Punjab is playing an active role in this regard. He said that an unpleasant environment was created with regard to missing children a few months ago. He said that Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Punjab and other institutions of the province worked in a coordinated manner in this regard and children were not only searched but also recovered.

He said that Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Punjab is of paramount importance regarding children in the country. He said that the role of the bureau is appreciable with regard to handing over missing, lost or abducted children to their parents.

The Chief Minister congratulated Chairperson of the Bureau Saba Sadiq, her institution and the entire team. Provincial Minister Rana Sanaullah, Advisor Rana Maqbool Ahmed, Chief Secretary, Police, administration and other concerned institutions are also deserve appreciation for their excellent work regarding children.

He said that Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Punjab not only hands over children to their parents but also provides technical training to the children, which is a great service and a noble cause. He said that subsidiary institutions of Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Punjab are being set up in other cities of the province.

He said that more funds will be provided to Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Punjab so that this it could forward noble cause more actively and vibrantly. He said that uniting lost children with their parents is a form of worship.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Abdullah belonging to Afghanistan is being psychologically treated and his parents have been traced through joint efforts of Punjab government and other agencies and soon this child will be sent to their parents safely.

Speaking on the occasion, Saba Sadiq said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has always given great importance to the matters of children. She said that attention of Chief Minister has helped resolved the problems of the children.

She said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has enrolled 80 thousand children working on brick kilns. Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah, Advisor Rana Maqbool Ahmed, Special Assistant Malik Ahmed Khan, Chief Secretary, Chairperson Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Punjab MPA Saba Sadiq, Secretary Home and parents of the children were present on the occasion.
