Fatima Jinnah Medical University syndicate meeting held in the committee room

Lahore : The first meeting of syndicate of Fatima Jinnah Medical University was held in the committee room of the university under the chairmanship of Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health Kh. Vice Chancellor FJMU Prof. Dr. Sardar Fakhar Imam, VC University of Health Sciences Maj. Gen. ® Dr. Muhammad Aslam, Special Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Dr. Sajid Chohan, Chairman Akhuwat Foundation. Dr. Amjad Saqib, representatives of education department, Ch. Yasin Sohl MPA, MS Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Dr. Noman Matloob, MS Govt. Shahdra Teaching Hospital Dr. Imtiaz Pervaiz and other members of syndicate attended the meeting.

Kh. Salman Rafiq took strict notice of absence of the offices of Finance and Law Departments and directed that a letter should be sent to the secretaries of both the departments in this regard and it should also be recorded in the minutes of the meeting.

The meeting gave approval for nominations to Constitute Academic Council, Selection Board, Finance and Planning Committee, Procurement Committee and Implementation & Coordination Committee for smooth running of university affairs. Moreover, the meeting also gave approval for adoption of rules of King Edward Medical University for FJMU for a specific period.

Kh. Salman Rafiq directed that a committee should be constituted to review the rules and submit recommendations for amendments in the rules if required. Syndicate committee meeting allowed recruitment against sanctioned posts according to the SNE in Government Shahdra Teaching Hospital.

Kh. Salman Rafiq directed that next meeting of syndicate should be called after 15 days to look into the administrative and financial matters.

Meanwhile, the nominated committees should review the matters and evolve their recommendations for the meeting.
