Complete Safari Zoo Park in time or get ready for punishment:MNA Afzal Khokhar

Lahore : Steering Committee for Wildlife’s Chairman and MNA Muhammad Afzal Khokhar has directed the officers concerned for completing the development work of play land and food court in Safari Zoo Park by September 01, 2016.

He warned that delay in development works will not be tolerated in any case and strict action would be taken against those not abiding by the directives.

Afzal Khokhar issued these directives while reviewing the development work in Safari Zoo Park here on Thursday. Secretary Khan and other high officers of the department were also present on this occasion.

Directing the XEN Provincial Buildings and Contractors for completing the buildings at Safari Zoo Park by September 01, 2016, MNA Afzal Khokhar also stressed the need for enhancing the number of animals in the park. He asked the officers to visit zoological gardens of other provinces and cities for mutual exchange of animals.

He also urged that price of the animals should be kept in mind while exchange animals and couples should be imported from other zoo parks instead of taking only male or female animals.  He also called for developing latest and state of the art recreational facilities for children in these parks. He announced that contractors meeting the standards set by the department will be given every possible help and incentive.

Secretary Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries Capt. ® Jehanzeb Khan directed the officials of the Safari Zoo Park to plant such trees inside the cages of animals in Safari Zoo which have thick shadow. He also disclosed that the government has decided to offer same facilities in Jallo Park which are being given in Safari Zoo Park.

Director General Wildlife & Parks Khalid Ayaz Khan said that special coasters and wagons bearing resemblance to animals in safari zoo park are also being introduced shortly besides facility of e-ticketing. He directed the officials to pay special attention on repair and completion of ponds and walkways. He also disclosed that a summary has been sent to the Chief Minister Punjab for recruitment of wildlife watchers for Safari Zoo Park.
