Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has approved financial assistance of six lakh rupees for prominent Siraiki poet Muhammad Shafi Shakir Shuja Abadi.
It may be mentioned that the poet is suffering from liver disease and had made an appeal to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for treatment and financial help to meet his medical expenses. This amount will be deposited in an account and monthly income will be given to Muhammad Shafi Shakir Shuja Abadi.
On the instructions of Chief Minister, a special medical board has also been set up for the ailing poet and Punjab government is bearing all expenditure on the medical care of Muhammad Shafi Shakir Shuja Abadi.
The Chief Minister said that Muhammad Shafi Shakir Shuja Abadi, who belongs to South Punjab, is an eminent poet and has rendered commendable services for the promotion of Saraiki literature. He said that poets like Muhammad Shafi Shakir Shuja Abadi are national asset. Muhammad Shafi Shakir Shuja Abadi belongs to Basti Khair Abad, Mohallah Gharib Abad Raja Ram, Tehsil Shujabad, district Multan.
