Amanat Scheme has promoted tax culture : Rana Sanaullah Khan

Rana Sanaullah KhanLahore : Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that Punjab government’s Amanat Scheme has played a key role in promoting public awareness about importance of tax. He said that Amanat Scheme is directly linked with Restaurant Invoice Monitoring System, (RIMS) under which, people hold accountable tax evaders. He said that success of this system and active participation of the people reflect the support of the masses to the government’s step. He said that there are about 2500 unregistered taxable hotels in Lahore which will be brought under RIMS net. He said that due to benefit of RIMS, its scope will be extended to Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala.

He was addressing third and fourth balloting of Amanat Scheme under Restaurant Invoice Monitoring System at 90-Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam today.

The Law Minister said that due to cooperation of the people and effective strategy of Punjab Revenue Authority, number of restaurants on the penal of RIMS has reached 160 and it will further increase. He said that government will receive a revenue of six crore 80 lakh rupees from third balloting and a revenue of five crore 40 lakh rupees from fourth balloting. Earlier, the Minister distributed cars, umrah tickets and motorcycles among the winners of second balloting.

Chairman Punjab Revenue Authority, Dr. Raheel Ahmed Siddiqui while speaking on the occasion said that Punjab Revenue Authority has introduced revolutionary reforms in tax culture during last four years due to which tax receipts have increased while a positive change has also been witnessed in public attitude towards payment of tax. He said that positive response shown by the hotel customers to Restaurant Invoice Monitoring System is the biggest proof of this fact.
