A delegation of Supreme Court Bar calls on Shahbaz Sharif

A delegation of Supreme Court Bar calls on Shahbaz SharifLahore : A delegation of Supreme Court Bar Association led by its President Syed Ali Zafar met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today. The President and Secretary of Supreme Court Bar Association congratulated Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on the recovery of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif after successful operation.

The Chief Minister said that lawyers community play a key role in the implementation of law and it will also have to make its efforts in the provision of justice to the common man. He said that the steps taken by Supreme Court Bar Association with regard to proposed legal reforms are encouraging. He announced a grant of Rs. 10 crore for Supreme Court Bar Association for the welfare of lawyers and said that all out measures will be taken for the betterment of lawyers.

Shahbaz Sharif said that he will talk to federal government with regard to setting up a housing society for lawyers while provision of medical facilities to legal community in hospitals will be ensured and the decision in this regard will be implemented.

The Chief Minister said that unfortunately it has become impossible for common man to get justice. He said that there is a need for removing flaws and shortcomings in the system as economic and social justice is essential for progress of the society. He said that it is unfortunate that neither political nor military governments paid attention to improving system of provision of justice. He said that corruption and loot was rampant in the country during last 69 years.

Shahbaz Sharif said that implementation of law is essential for progress of Pakistan. He said that lawyers’ community will have to play an effective role for ensuring justice to the citizens. He further said that a society which is not based on justice cannot survive.

The Chief Minister said that China has done a big favor to Pakistan by giving historic package of 46 billion dollars but the enemy is perturbed over China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He said that collective efforts are needed for the implementation of CPEC projects.

Referring to Orange Line Metro Train project, the Chief Minister said that no historical heritage or building will be affected by this project. President Supreme Court Bar Association Syed Ali Zafar appreciated the steps taken by Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for the elimination of child labour from brick kilns and said that Ramadan bazaars are providing relief to the people.

Attorney General of Pakistan Ashtar Ausaf, Provincial Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed, Advocate General Punjab Shakeel ur Rehman, Additional Attorney General of Pakistan Naseer Bhutta, Khawaja Ahmed Hasaan, senior officials and office-bearers of Supreme Court Bar Association were also present on the occasion.
