Nawaz package swallowed by patwaris prior to reach farmers: Ch Pervaiz Elahi

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi has said that the package which Nawaz Sharif had announced for the farmers was very little and that too was swallowed by patwaris prior to its reaching the farmers, their losses have not been met and if at all anyone got something after much delay that was not more than peanuts.

He said this while responding to questions from journalists after talking to party leaders at the residence of Sardar Sher Afgan in Okara today. On this occasion, Sardar Sher Afgan’s son and former Punjab Assembly candidate Sardar Sheharyar was also present.

Replying to questions about difficulties and problems being faced by the farmer, he said that sympathy of present rulers for the farmers is only limited to slogans and propaganda, during their tenure problems, financial difficulties and worries have always increased whereas during our five years tenure of govt we had solved the farmers problems on priority basis, they were given many facilities and incentives besides whatever was done for the people including workers and the poor was unparalleled and a record.

On his attention being drawn by a journalist towards prevailing pathetic conditions of hospitals and schools, Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that they (present rulers) are spending not only development funds of the districts but also of special funds of health and education sectors on show off project like orange line this is why medicines are not available in the hospitals and even essential compulsory facilities are not provided.

To a question about worsening law and order situation, he said that during N-League tenure people are getting dacoities instead of jobs and suicides are increasing with every passing day, dacoits, thieves and other criminals are free to commit crime and incidence of crime has increased manifold as compared to our tenure.
