JI Central Shoora Meraj ud Din advocate is laid to rest

Lahore: Senior Jamaat e Islami, leader from Khyber P, and member of the JI Central Shoora,  Meraj ud Din advocate was laid to rest in his hometown Nowshera in the presence of thousands of mourners. His funeral prayers were led by former provincial chief of the JI, Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Khan.

Addressing the gathering,  Ameer, JI, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, said that the deceased had joined the Islamic movement in his youth and had struggled for the enforcement of Deen till his last breath. He said the large gathering at the funeral was an indication that the deceased was highly popular in his area and a devoted JI worker besides being of the JI and a great social worker.

He said that the deceased had set up a chain of educational institutions in the area He had suffered hardships during martial law.

Sirajul Haq said that the rulers in the country wanted to make Pakistan a liberal and secular state against the wishes of the masses but the religious forces would foil all such efforts.

Those who attended the funeral included JUI (S) chief, Maulana Samiul Haq, JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch, Maulana Hamidul Haq and Maulana Yousuf Shah, and others.
