DGPR officers visit Child Protection Bureau

DGPR officers visit Child Protection BureauLahore: Director General Child Protection Bureau Punjab Fatima Sheikh has said that civil society should play active role for eliminating violence against children. She said that cruelties and highhandedness with children are result of social injustices.

Talking to a delegation of officers of Director General Public Relations, Fatima Sheikh told that under Punjab Destitute and Neglected Children Act, after rescue of children, special steps are being taken for their boarding and lodging, look-after and psychological rehabilitation throughout the province.

She said that accommodation units of Child Protection Bureau are working at divisional places throughout the province which include central office Lahore besides Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan and Rawalpindi. Fatima Sheikh informed that with the special assistance of philanthropists, civil society, police, judiciary and Punjab government, special role of child protection bureau is of paramount importance for children affected from violence and social problems.

Director Programme Tania Malik, in a briefing, informed that occurring of maximum number of incidents of violence against children in elite areas is a matter of concern for the entire society. She said that all out efforts are being made for making children useful citizen of the society through special attention and look after in Child Protection Bureau which is yielding encouraging results.

Fatima Sheikh and Tania Malik informed officers of Directorate General Public Relations about Child Protection Bureau Act, working, and other matters. The officers of Directorate General Public Relations also visited different sections of Child Protection Bureau.

The delegation included in charge information core group Ishtiaq Ameen, Deputy Director Public Relations Muhammad Imran Aslam, Deputy Director Sohail Rana, Deputy Director Electronic Media Lala Rukh, Deputy Director Rubina Zahid, Information officers Hafsa Javed, content producers Hina, Wajha Ahmed, Public Relations Officer Child Protection Bureau Zara Umer, Waseem Abbas and others.
