1373 charge nurses will be recruited in Lahore General Hospital

Prof.Dr.Khalid MahmoodLahore: Punjab Health Department has sent the case of new posts of 1373 charge nurses of Lahore General Hospital to Finance Department and Punjab government will have to bear an additional expenditure of Rs.49 crore under the head of salaries during a year for said grade 16 posts.

According to the details, Principal PGMI & LGH Prof Dr. Khalid Mahmood has taken the stance that LHG was established in 1958 and since then impact of increase in population has also affected the hospital and the number of patients is also increasing.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab government has increased the number of beds of LGH from 706 to 1000 besides new departments have also been set up. Therefore, posts of 1373 charge nurses in Lahore General Hospital should be approved. The Principal told that if the cases approved, overall expenses Rs. 491,236 million will have to be borne in a year.
