The ex-servicemen will take out “one rank one pension” rally on Nov 6

Mandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal): The ex-servicemen will take out “one rank one pension” rally at press club Mandi Bahauddin on Nov 6, 2015 for acceptance of their demands regarding “one rank one pension” (OROP) scheme and establishment of Soldiers Board in this district.

President Ex-Servicemen Society Mandi Bahauddin chapter Sher Gondal while talking to media persons here the other day said the grievance over OROP dates back to early 90s when Federal Government did not implement verdict given by Federal Shariat Court on OROP case.

On a question by media persons he said purpose of holding rally was to make people aware of Government who had been denying ex-servicemen’s’ legitimate rights. He further added government even stopped increase in commuted portion of pension which led to large difference in pension of old and new pensioners.

Terming it a gross injustice he said that old pensioners were financially hard pressed in wake of ever increasing inflation and price hike. It is pity that government was not paying attention to welfare of ex-servicemen who spent their youth to protect not only borders of the country but also freedom of its citizens.
