USAID another project inaugurated to promote education in Pakistan

Photo of 41Lahore: The inaugural ceremony of newly constructed building of Faculty of Education in University of Education funded by USAID was held at Township Campus here on Wednesday.

Acting US Counsel General Erik Martini attended the ceremony as chief guest while Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan was guest of honor. At the occasion, Chairman Punjab HEC Dr.Nizam ud Din, Education University Vice Chancellor Prof.Dr.Rauf-i-Azam, Director Colleges, faculty members and a large number of students were present.

After plaque unveiling, Acting US Counsel General Erik Martini, in his address said that the Pakistan’s true development, betterment and the promotion of quality education is the top priority of USAID. He stressed the students to focus their studies whole heartedly and work hard for making country’s future brighter.

Education University Vice Chancellor Prof.Dr.Rauf-i-Azam briefed the participants about the basics of University including core purpose, effective teacher’s training programs and other remarkable facts and figures that prominent University of Education as a prestigious institution among many other Universities at national and international level.

Chairman Punjab HEC Dr.Nizam ud Din said that Punjab Government is allocating a huge amount for the promotion of research culture among Universities which is a clear glimpse of an educated and developed Pakistan.

Addressing the ceremony, Provincial Minister Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan said that Universities are the hub of research and education and the role of competent teachers and researchers for the promotion of quality education can’t be denied at any cost. University of Education is a proud able institute in the field of teacher’s training and its reputable teachers are the role model for better educational development.

Provincial Minister Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan, Acting US Counsel General Erik Martini and other guests also lauded the efforts of  Vice Chancellor Prof.Dr.Rauf-i-Azam and declared his appointment in University of Education, a good sign for further progress and development.
