Excise & Taxation Department collects over 3 billions tax in just 2 months

Lahore: Excise & Taxation Department has collected tax of more than three billion and 85 crore rupees in the first two months of current financial year which is more than 38 percent during the last years’ two months.

The department collected two billion, 55 crore and 60 lakh rupees were collected as motor vehicle tax which is more than 40  percent than the same period of last year.

Similarly, 50 crore and 20 lakh rupees were collected as property tax which is more than 51 percent than previous year.

 Provincial minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said that the department has collected 19 crore and 20 lakh rupees as duty imposed in the preparation and sale of alcohol in July and August which is more than 18 percent in the first two months of financial year 2014-15.
