vehicles in the Prime Minister’s security squadLahore: Naib Ameer of the Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, has strongly condemned the addition of ten new vehicles in the Prime Minister’s security squad at a time when millions of people in the country were starving.

In a statement here on Tuesday, he said that the new vehicles were estimated to cost Rs. five hundred million to the public exchequer and the burden would be borne by the poor masses living from hand to mouth.

He said that the life, property and honour of the citizens was not secure and they were deprived of basic civic facilities. However, the rulers thought themselves above the law and the constitution and were spending the public money on their sweet will.

He said there were already dozens of vehicles in the Prime Minister’s security squad and the huge amount spent on the new vehicles could have been more properly used on the public welfare.
