JI denounces load shedding in Khyber P

pic sirajul haq 23Lahore:  Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan Senator Sirajul Haq has said that the generation of electricity in Khyber P. province was more than from the other provinces but its people were deprived of its benefits and had to face worst load shedding. He said this during his meeting with the PESCO chief at Peshawar on Tuesday.

The JI chief said that denying the benefit of electricity generation to the Khyber P people was great injustice which could not be tolerated for long. He stressed that the mismanagement in PESCO must come to an end and the Khyber P people should be provided due share of electricity.

He said that the people all over the country were suffering because of power crisis during the holy month of Ramazan and they had lost their patience now.  The JI chief was accompanied by MNA Sahibzada Muhammad Yaqub, and MPAs Azaz ul Malik Afkari, Said Gul and Malik Behram Khan.

He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s directives that there should be no load shedding during Sehr and Iftar timings had not been implemented even for a single day, and added that such things created mistrust among the people about the rulers.

The JI chief said that the percentage of payments of electricity bills in Dir and Malakand divisions was the highest all over the country and the line losses were also low as compared to the other parts of the country, yet the people of the area had to face prolonged load shedding during Ramazan.

Sirajul Haq told the PESCO chief that the JI MPAS from the area had already made payments for the transformers and polls for their areas but the PESCO staff was dilly dallying in supplying the material to them, and the sufferings of the people of the area were continuing.

He stressed that the load shedding issue must be resolved on war footing, and also called for immediate supply of electricity to the areas for which the tenders had been approved.
