Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan Senator Sirajul Haq has said that all government claims of controlling load shedding had had gone to the winds and the death of around 260 people in Karachi due to intense heat was a big tragedy.
Addressing party office bearers at Mansoora on Monday, he said that the rulers were trying to befool the masses through large size advertisements in newspapers that the problem of load shedding had been solved. Had the federal and the provincial governments spent on the public welfare projects instead of personal publicity, the energy crisis would have been over and most of the people’s problems could have been solved, he added. He said that the rulers had not been able to check theft of electricity so far.
He said that line losses could be minimized by up-gradation of the transmission lines. However, he said the rulers seemed to be totally indifferent about the problems of the general public.
Sirajul Haq said that the corrupt and incompetent rulers were the real problem of the country, and as long as they remained at the helm of the affairs, the situation would not improve. The good of the masses lies in getting rid of the dishonest rulers and bringing forth honest, competent and dedicated peoples in their place, he added.
The JI chief urged the nation to resolve during the holy month of Ramazan to renew their struggle for the enforcement of the Nizam e Mustafa. He said that the struggle for the enforcement of the Islamic system was as obligatory as fasting in Ramazan. Allah Almighty had commissioned the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) with a complete code of life which implied wiping out all man- made, false system of life. The Islamic system ensures just and equitable distribution of resources in the society and was against exploitation and class based society, he added.
Sirajul haq appreciated the Opposition boycott from the National Assembly in protest against load shedding and said that pressure must be increased on the rulers on this score.
