MYC Strongly condemned the attack at the Ismailiya community bus in Karachi

LAHORE: The Milli Yakjehti Council has said that the constitution of the country was Islamic in character and nobody would be allowed to tamper with it.

The executive body of the MYC at its meeting presided over the MYC deputy chief and Chief of the Tanzeem e Islami, Hafiz Aakif Saeed, resolved to resist every effort to alter the Islamic character of the constitution.

The meeting strongly condemned the attack at the Ismailiya community bus in Karachi resulting in heavy casualties.

Secretary General, MYC, Liaqat Bloch, in his address, said that Pakistan had been achieved in the name of Islam but there were conspiracies to change its basic ideology. He said it was because of the sincere and untiring efforts of the MYC that the menace of sectarianism had not spread over the country like the Middle East. He said that late Qazi usain Ahmed had worked hard for this noble cause.

JI deputy chief Asadullah Bhutto, representing the Sindh chapter of the body, said there were attempts from certain quarters to tamper with the Objectives Resolution which must be checked well in time.

Jamaat al Dawa’s central leader Hafiz Abdur Rahman Makki, in his address, said that sectarianism was not the problem in Pakistan. The real issue was the foreign interference against which a strong voice must be raised from all quarters.

The chief guest at the meeting, Deewan Azmat Syed Muhammad Chishti, in his address, said that  handing over of the education to the provinces had given rise to serious problems concerning the education syllabi and there were complaints of the induction of anti- constitution and secular material in the courses of studies. However, he declared that the religious parties and the religious minded masses would never accept that.
