Islamabad Cricket Club clinches PAF T20 Cricket Champions Trophy for the Blind

Award of TrophyGroup Photo with winnersLahore: Islamabad Cricket Club of the Blind defeated Gujranwala Cricket Club of the Blind by 03 Wickets in an entertaining final of PAF T20 Cricket Champions Trophy for the Blind, played at PAF Complex Cricket Ground Islamabad.

Air Marshal Muhammad Ashfaque Arain, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Administration) who is also Patron in Chief of Islamabad Cricket Club of the Blind was the chief guest at the occasion.

The final match was a close contest and had a thrilling finish. Islamabad Cricket Club of the Blind won the toss and decided to field first. Gujranwala Cricket Club of the Blind  scored 256 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 over. Muhammad Akram scored brilliant 140 runs. In reply Islamabad Cricket Club of the Blind chased the target in 19.3 over for the loss of 7 wickets. Anis Javed scored unbeaten 169 and ensured the victory of his team by 3 wickets.

Six teams from different cities of Pakistan participated in the tournament. The chief guest awarded prizes among the winners of the tournament. Speaking on the occasion the chief guest congratulated all the participating teams for showing such marvelous sportsman spirit. He further said that PAF was proud of serving the noble cause of bringing the visually impaired in the mainstream of the society.
