Action will be continued till the end of last terrorist: IGP Mushtaq Sukhera

IGP Mushtaq Ahmad SukheraLahore: The decisions of the Apex Committees regarding National Action Plan are being implemented by the Punjab Police with the coordination of Law Enforcing Agencies in its true letter and spirit and this action will be continued till the end of last terrorist in the province.

This was stated by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera while talking in a briefing held at Central Police Office, Lahore to review the progress regarding the implementation of Nation Action Plan in the Province. All concerned Police Officers were present in the briefing.

IGP was told that during the last 12 weeks 3396 cases have been registered, 3336 accused were arrested whereas 3124 Challans were submitted and 768 were convicted on violation of Sound System (Regulation) Ordinance, 2015 in Punjab.

Similarly, on violation of Prohibition of Expressing Matters on Walls (Amendment) Ordinance, 1995 during this period, 368 cases have been registered, 344 accused were arrested, 252 Cahllans were submitted and 113 accused were convicted.

So much so 2420 cases were registered, 3351 accused were arrested, 1887 Challans were submitted and 515 violators were convicted of Information of Temporary Residents Ordinance, 2015.

IGP was also told that on violation of ARMS (Amendments) Ordinance, 1965, Police has registered 8302 cases and arrested 8325 accused whereas 6698 cahllans were submitted and 59 accused were convicted.

The PPO further briefed that on violation of MPO, 1960 as Amended in 2015, Police has registered 23 cases and also 23 accused arrested whereas submitted 10 Cahllans and among them 2 accused were convicted.
