Punjab police is vigilant to combat terrorism :Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera

Lahore: Punjab police is equally vigilant and prepared to combat terrorism with the cooperation of Government, Pakistan Army and other Law enforcing agencies and the newly established 5 CTD Police Stations in Punjab would enable the police to fight with these anti-state elements.

This was stated by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera while addressing at the passing out parade of 2nd batch of CTD Corporal Force held at Elite Police Training Center, Bedian, today. Chief Minister, Punjab, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was the Chief Guest of the ceremony whereas Inetrior Minister, Col (R), Shuja Khanzada, Chief Secretary, Home Secretary Punjab, D.G Rangers and all senior police officers were present. 03 Maj. Generals also represents the Cor. Commander Lahore at the passing out parade.

Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera further said that the CTD police stations are fully operational in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faislalabad, Multan and Rawalpindi. He said that these CTD Police Stations will be enable to start the investigation of terrorism cases within two weeks. He said that some of these cases after investigation could be referred to the military courts subject to the nature of the case.

IGP stated that these corporals were trained in three different fields including intelligence sharing, operations and investigations. He said that the standard of the training is not less than international standards as the Pakistan army and training experts of the foreign countries are on board in training process.

Later, IGP Punjab presented a souvenir to the honorable chief guest.

While answering to the questions of media persons, IGP said that no innocent will be arrested in Yohanna Abad incident only those who are involved will be challaned after completing the investigations. He further said that with the execution of death penalties, heinous crime including murder decreased in Punjab.

Earlier ,Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan is passing through a critical phase of its history. He said that the fire of terrorism, extremism and sectarianism has engulfed the country. He said that a decisive war is being fought for our future and survival of coming generations. He said that military and political leadership, all institutions and the entire nation are on one page in the war against terrorism.

The Chief Minister said the nation has decided that the bloodshed should be eliminated from the country at every cost. He said that Pak army is fighting against terrorists with bravery. He said that excellent achievements have been made in operation zarb-e-azb and this operation has caused a huge loss to terrorists. He said that the entire nation is determined to return the lost peace to the country.

Shahbaz Sharif said that we have to make the nation a great by removing disappointments through purging the country of the menace of terrorism. He said that Punjab government, according to the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, has constituted a most trained Counter Terrorism Force in Punjab which will play a vanguard role in the war against terrorism. He expressed his belief that Pakistan will win the war against terrorism as this is the time of “now or never”. He said that success will become our fate and question of failure does not arise.
