Sports Board Punjab vows to set new paly fields in Lahore

Sports Board Punjab vows to set new paly fields in LahoreLahore: An important meeting of Punjab Sports Ministry, on Monday, discussed the establishment of sports venues and play fields in Lahore. The meeting was held at Conference Room, National Hockey Stadium.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan chaired the meeting. Member Provincial Assembly Mian Naseer Ahmed, who is also Convener Divisional Sports and Youth Development Council Lahore, MPA and Convener Town Sports and Youth Development Council, Data Ganj Bakhsh Town Majid Zahoor, Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Siddique–ul-Farooq, Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar, Secretary Auqaf M Shaharyar Sultan, Secretary Cooperatives Babar Hayat Tarar, Asif Iqbal Ch, Additional Commissioner Lahore and other high-ups attended the meeting.

The participants of meeting thoroughly reviewed the sports facilities to be developed on the sports venues in accordance with local requirements. The Public Private Partnership model for maintenance and operation on self-sustainable basis of these sports grounds was also evaluated in the meeting.

Rana Mashhood, addressing the meeting, said that Punjab govt and Sports Board Punjab were quite upbeat about establishing standard sports facilities in the city. “Like our past efforts, we will continue our endeavours to provide best sporting facilities to the inhabitants of Lahore,” he added. The Minister further told the meeting that Lahore was the hub of national sports. “Besides Lahore we are also focusing on other areas of Punjab to build standard sports structure,” he resolved.

DG SBP Usman Anwar, on this occasion, said that SPB has already made sufficient measures for the growth of sports in the province. “We are also trying to establish strong sports infrastructure in remote areas,” he added.
