Lahore: Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani MNA has termed the death of former Chief Justice Supreme Court Rana Bhagwan Das as great tragedy for Pakistan. He was talking to media after attending the funeral of Rana bhagwan Das, in Karachi.
While lauding the positive contribution, he said that Hindu community was currently in shocked to know that Rana Bhagwan Das is no more with them. He also paid rich tribute to the departed soul, saying that honest personality like him is, no doubt, a role model for the nation.
On the occasion, Dr. Ramesh assured to carry on his positive mission to serve the people. He also recalled the moments spend with Rana Bhagwan Das, mentioning that all the political parties were agreed for the appointment of Rana Bhagwan Das, as Chief Election Commissioner. “Compromise on principles was not possible for a positive personality like Rana Bhagwan Das,” he emphasized.
Pakistan Hindu Council had also demanded that according to Liaqat-Nehru Accord, Rana Bhagwan Das must be appointed as Chairman of the Evacuee Trust Board, he further said.
Dr. Ramesh Kumar said in response to a question that late Rana Bhagwan Das believed that the only good deeds of a human could be beneficial for him and nobody could change the will of god. He also announced to continue the positive mission of Rana Bhagwan Das, for the betterment of society.
