Lahore: Jassim & Hamed Bin Jassim Foundation Qatar will establish two 150 bed hospitals as well as health centers and schools in the backward areas of Bhakkar and Jhang. The health centers would provide emergency treatment facilities as well as mother child healthcare and labour room facilities.
He was talking to media after attending MoU signing ceremony between Jassim & Hamed Bin Jassim Foundation and Punjab Government at Chief Minister Secretariat, here today.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the foundation Saeed Mathkar A Alhajri, Secretary Health Punjab Jawad Rafiq Malik and Secretary Schools Abdul Jabbar Shaheen signed the MoU. Earlier, CEO of the foundation called on the Advisor to Chief Minister on Health Kh. Salman Rafiq.
Secretary Health Jawad Rafique Malik, Secretary Schools Abdul Jabbar Shaheen, DCO Bhakkar Muhammad Zaman Wattoo and other members of Qatar delegation were also present in the meeting. Saeed Alhajri informed that the focus of the foundation is mother and child healthcare and special facilities for this purpose including labour rooms would be provided in the health centers to be established by the Jassim & Hamed Bin Jassim Foundation in Bhakkar and Jhang districts. He said that Pakistan is one of the biggest counties of Islamic world and the people of Qatar and the foundation would be pleased to extend cooperation to Pakistan in the social sector. He said that his foundation would also provide ambulances for the centers and a delegation from Qatar will visit Lahore within two weeks to finalize the matters in this regard. He said that the work will soon start on these projects.
Kh. Salman Rafiq informed that Jassim & Hamed Bin Jassim Foundation will provide funds for establishing hospitals, health centers and schools in both the districts and will also bear the running expenditures of the hospital for two to three years. These facilities would later be handed over to the Punjab government. Kh. Salman Rafiq appreciated the humanitarian services of the foundation and thanked the CEO Saeed Alhajri for extending generous cooperation. He said that healthcare services would improve in Bhakkar and Jhang districts due to setting up new healthcare centers.
