Punjab Police decide to deploy Quick Response Force around educational institutions

Lahore: Keeping in view the security of educational institutions throughout the province, IG Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has decided to deploy around Quick Response Force which would act immediately at the time of any unpleasant situation.

This decision has been taken after the audit of schools by a five member security committee which was constituted by the Punjab Government to look into the security matters for the schools, Colleges and Universities.

The officials of the Quick Response Force will remain in touch with the administration and the heads of all the educational institutions which have been provided the emergency phone numbers issued by the law enforcing authorities.

As per orders of the IGP, Punjab, police training for the security guards of the educational institutions has been started. In order to carry out the SOP issued by the Punjab government regarding the security of schools, all the regional police officers and DPOs are in contact with the administration of educational institutions. The SOP is about the increase of walls by 8 fit in height, placing of 2 fit high barbed wires, CCTV cameras and also maintaining the complete record of the schools’ workers, employees etc.
