Late Sheikh Saleemullah was the News Editor of then lone English language newspaper ‘The Khyber Mail’ and son of the founder of English journalism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sheikh Sanaullah.
Besides, a good teacher, he was a good trade unionist and remained in the forefront of the struggle for the independence of media during the military regime of Zia-ul-Haq. His journalistic career was span over a period of four decades during which he groomed a large number of journalists.
After the closure of the erstwhile daily The Khyber Mail, he also remained associated with small newspapers like Pakistan Observer, Frontier Star and Khyber Mail International.
He has left behind two sons, a daughter and widow to mourn his death.
