All political parties have given a mandate to the Prime Minister for eradication of terrorism:Sirajul Haq

Siraj ul haq with shah mehmood qureshiLahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said that the entire nation stood united against terrorism and now it was the test of the rulers to achieve the goal before the nation and  satisfy the people on his score. He was talking to the media men after a meeting with the PTI vice chairman Shah Mehmud Qureshi at the Frontier House, Islamabad.

Sirajul Haq said that all political parties had given a mandate to the Prime Minister for eradication of terrorism while the Ulema were also unanimous on the issue because no religion allowed shedding the blood of innocents.

The JI chief said that some elements within the country and abroad tried to malign Islam  because of such incidents.  However, he said, that the Ulema from all schools of thought had condemned the terrorist attack in Peshawar and strong protest was pouring out from all sections of the society against the tragic incident.

Sirajul Haq appreciated the PTI’s all out support to the government in the wake of the Peshawar tragedy and said the government should also give a surprise to the nation by resolving all issues with the PTI, and added that all the issues could be resolved through talks as this was the most conducive talks for dialogue.

To a question regarding resignations, the JI chief said if the government showed its seriousness for the setting up of the judicial commission , the issue could be resolved amicably.

He said that after the Peshawar tragedy, all the political parties wanted to forget the past for deciding all issues, He said the political parties were now awaiting the federal government’s recommendations which would be approved by all an APC and then presented to the nation.

Sirajul Haq fully hoped that the year 2015 would be the year of peace and would put the country on the road to progress and prosperity.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah Mehmud Qureshi said that the nation had united against terrorism and extremism. He said that the challenges facing the country were now new, but the need of the hour was that necessary reforms were introduced to overcome the weaknesses,

He said after the 1965 war, it was for the first time that the nation stood united and this spirit must be kept alive. He said the nation wanted that the issue of terrorism should be given first priority and added that the government should easily find funds to eradicate terrorism after a steep fall in the POL prices. He said that peace was essential  for economic development and investment.

Shah Mehmud Qureshi said that the government had agreed to the proposal for declaring the year 2015 as the year of peace, and now the priorities in this respect should be decided. He said that the lack of coordination among the law enforcement organizations should be overcome.

He said the PTI had decided to end its sit- in keeping in view the supreme national interests so that the government could give all its attention to the issue of terrorism.

In reply to a question, he said that the main issue was the setting up of the judicial commission and the commencement of tits working. Therefore, the government should fulfill its commitments on this score after which the issue could be resolved at a single sitting between the two sides.
