People are being lifted and made to disappear in Sindh:Liaqat Baloch

Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that it was unfortunate that none from the government had visited the house of JUI(F) leader Dr Khalid Mahmood Soomro for condolence. He said that after FATA and Balochistan, people were being lifted and made to disappear in Sindh as well which had spread a wave of unrest in the province.He said it was the responsibility of the provincial government to expose the criminals involved in such crimes and bring them to book.

In a statement here on Monday after a visit to Sindh, he said that the growers had suffered heavy losses in cotton and rice and now they were finding it hard to get due return for their sugar cane crop. He said that in Sindh, the Haris had suffered the worst losses because of the collusion of the sugar mills mafia. He said the farmers had purchased agricultural inputs on high prices but they were not getting the fixed price for their crops.

Liaqat Baloch said the entire agriculture sector including the growers and the Haris were facing a crisis to the wrong policies of the federal and the provincial governments. He has urged the government, the sugar mills owners and the kisan organizations to sit together and find out a solution of the problem.
