Lahore: A physics poster exhibition was held at the Government College University, Lahore on the second day of the international conference on “Physics and Contemporary Needs”. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman inaugurated the poster exhibition comprised of 50 research papers of postgraduate scholars participating in the three-day conference.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Rahman said poster exhibition was the unique feature of international science conferences at GCU, and those young scholars, who didn’t get chance to read their papers at the conference due shortage of time, presented their paper in the form of posters. He said that these poster exhibitions didn’t only increase the presentation skills of researchers but also provided them a chance to discuss scope of their research with the eminent national and foreign scientists.
He said that Pakistani students had a great potential and they were doing quality research, which was at par with international standards. He laid a stress on mutual collaboration between the research and development organisations, departments and universities, saying that it was not possible for single department to have all the necessary equipment and research facilities.
Dr Muhammad Zakria Butt, the conference chairman and Professor Rafi Chair, said that more than 30 eminent physicists from all over Pakistan also read their papers at the four technical sessions of the conference on the second. He also said that a culture would also be organized in the honor of the participants of the conference.
