Federal Minister Zahid Hamid step down after named in treason case

Lahore: Federal Minister for science & technology Zahid Hamid stepped down after named in treason case.He was the law minister in Pervaiz Musharraf regime.The court also ordered to record the statement of ex-PM Shokat Aziz in the case.

Today,special court headed by Justice Faisal Arab approved the petition partially to add the names of former prime minister Shokat Aziz,former law minister Zahid Hamid,former CJP Abdul Hameed Dogar in treason case for imposing emergency on 9th of November.The applicant requested to add the names of then Corps Commanders as co-accused but the special court did not honour this request.

Pervaiz Musharraf’s lawyer Faisal Ch has said after the judgement,the government has no choice to add the names of the co-accused in the case.
